About The Sewing Company
We are a custom sewing company in Dashwood, ON, specializing in creating sewn and upholstered goods that are simple, affordable, and made to last. We began offering our services in 2011, and we are celebrating our tenth anniversary this year.
Our founder, Lianne Papple, has an educational background in interior design and is passionate about home décor sewing, including drapery and bedding.
Her husband, Bruce, joined the company in 2015, which allowed the husband and wife duo to expand their upholstery services to include RV cushions, boat seats, and snowmobile seats.
Our offerings include designing and manufacturing for both full-run production and small-run production companies. We also assist local clientele in sewing and upholstery jobs for their homes and their recreational vehicles.
We serve clients across Dashwood, Grand Bend, Forest, Parkhill, Bayfield, Goderich, Mitchell, Port Franks, St. Marys, and the surrounding areas.
The Sewing Company Difference
One aspect that makes us second to none is that we respect our clients and want to create a long-lasting relationship with each of them. Therefore, we pay meticulous attention to detail which allows us to evaluate if a project is worth the investment for a client.
What also sets us apart is our cost-saving practices, as we know how to work faster and not harder. Therefore, we add value by restoring goods that may have been thrown away and make pieces that last longer. Our approach has allowed us success.
One of our most significant achievements has been establishing ourselves as professionals. In the beginning, our founder, Lianne, competed against home sewers who didn’t always value their monetary worth.
She didn’t want to be just busy but profitable, so she started knocking on doors to keep sewing. Fast forward a decade, and today we receive jobs mostly through word of mouth referrals which is rewarding.
Our dream for the future is to keep learning, growing, and helping people. We would also love to supply eco-friendly materials that minimize landfills and are accessible to the average person.
